The first horse-driven tram line from Sokolniki to Bogorodskoye village was built in mid-1880's. An electric tram replaced horses in 1912. Later, in the middle of XX century, the motorcar traffic along Bogorodskoye Shosse became rather heavy, and the tram line was moved to parallel streets; its operation was begun on May 24, 1953.

Sokolnicheskaya Zastava and the beginning of Oleniy Val Street. A part of road is stone-paved; it is very difficult to find such pavement in Moscow today, though it was very usual a century ago.

Here begins Bolshaya Oleniya Street. In fact, this place is located on a dike between two ponds.

A tram car in Bolshaya Oleniya Street. The street is just a vista in Sokolniki forest; and look how naturally tram fits into the landscape, causing no damage to ecology!

Bolshaya Shiryaevskaya Street looks exactly the same as Bolshaya Oleniya - nothing more than a cut in the forest with tramway tracks. Leaving this street, tracks return to Bogorodskoye Shosse.
